Telangana Braces for Intense Cold Wave, Hyderabad's Temperature Drops to 7.1°C
Intense cold wave conditions also gripped several districts in Telangana, with temperatures in Adilabad, Nirmal, Vikarabad, and Kumram Bheem Asifabad ranging between 6.3°C and 7°C.
Cold wave
Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana are currently experiencing a severe cold wave, with Bela in Adilabad recording the season’s lowest temperature of 6.3°C early on Monday. In Hyderabad, the minimum temperature was 7.1°C at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) campus in Serilingampally Mandal, while Moula Ali in Uppal mandal recorded 7.2°C.
The cold wave has gripped the entire Hyderabad region and surrounding districts, including Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Rangareddy. Between Sunday midnight and Monday morning, temperatures in several core areas of the city dropped significantly below the normal minimum levels.
At BHEL, the early morning temperature on Monday was 7.4°C, while Rajendranagar saw a drop to 8.2°C. Gachibowli recorded a low of 9.3°C, and in Secunderabad, West Marredpally registered 9.1°C. Quthbullapur also experienced chilly conditions with a minimum temperature of 9.9°C.
The cold wave is not limited to the city; several districts in Telangana, including Adilabad, Nirmal, Vikarabad, and Kumram Bheem Asifabad, recorded temperatures between 6.3°C and 7°C.
Rural areas across Telangana, including Adilabad, Rangareddy, Nirmal, Sangareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Asifabad, Vikarabad, and Kamareddy, are also experiencing a significant dip in temperatures, continuing the cold wave across the state.
